At your first appointment, we will review my forms and practice policies and the intake paperwork you completed prior to your appointment together. We will both get a chance to ask questions and get to know one other.
The first session is an opportunity for each of us to ensure that working together is a good fit. If we both feel like working together is a good fit, we will identify a few goals for our work together by the end of the first session. If either of us decides that we’re not a good fit, we will discuss next steps and I can provide you with referrals to other local providers if you would like.

It depends and it is ultimately your choice. I typically work with clients for at least 6 months (12-24 sessions).
Therapy is about building trust and a therapeutic relationship, so often I will work with clients for 1-2 years and sometimes longer depending on the type of individualized support they need.
You will get out of therapy what you put into it in some ways. So, the more frequently we meet and the more work you do on your own time outside of the therapy room based upon what we discuss may influence how long you need support.
